Roof Repair Due to Animal Damage in Columbus, OH

A homeowner in Columbus, OH, reached out for an estimate after discovering a hole in the roof, likely caused by animals. With the age of the roof unknown but covered in asphalt shingles, the damage needed immediate attention to prevent further issues. Upon inspection, we determined that the best approach was to replace the bottom three feet of shingles on the front slope and replace the damaged decking as necessary.

To properly restore the affected area, we carefully cut out the compromised decking 2-3 feet up, ensuring only the damaged section was addressed rather than the entire eave. Three sheets of OSB were included in the quote, but if only two were needed, the unused sheet would be removed at the end of the job. A new drip edge metal was installed to reinforce the repair and prevent future water infiltration. The materials for the repair were placed on the front porch for easy access during the project. The homeowner can now feel confident that their roof is secure and protected against further animal damage.

Targeted Roof Repair Due to Raccoon Damage in Ohio

A homeowner reached out to Klaus Roofing of Ohio after discovering damage to the front slope of their roof above the porch awning caused by raccoon activity. The animals had torn through a section of the roof, exposing the structure and leaving it vulnerable to weather and further intrusion. Rather than replacing the entire eave, our team focused on a precision repair of just the affected area to preserve as much of the existing roof as possible.

We included up to three sheets of OSB in the quote for decking reinforcement, with plans to adjust the material usage and cost if fewer sheets are needed. Once the damaged decking was addressed, we applied Driftshake-colored IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles featuring a tear-resistant ArmourZone strip, Fastlock sealant, and 130 MPH wind resistance rating. All shingles were secured with 6-ring shank nails to prevent shifting, lifting, or nail pops over time.

This efficient, targeted repair not only restored the home’s protection and curb appeal but also showcased our commitment to cost-conscious, customer-focused service delivered by a roof repair contractor that understands the importance of durability, precision, and value.
